  1. i already do that. i buy old computer systems with things such as core i5 2600's in and buy lower end gpus then flip them for a slightly higher price, ism not to fussed with profit margins as i do have a second job but computers are my passion so finding a luttle workshop just to store things and have a place people can go to for repairs or to get a pc built is a dream of mine due to being in foster care and my parents passing away i lack "mainstream knowledge" so am unable to get much more than gcse equivalents in college. which is why i want to prove what im capable of.
  2. most of this i know of, and im not really looking into profile margins or anything like that. i just love computer systems as a whole and wont to share that knowledge with the community. i already have a job at a local bakery which earns a reasonable pay for under 18's but my passion is with computers even if its say £20 profit per computer thats enough to keep me motivated.
  3. i would stick with the 3200, as much as 3600 would help tgeres not really any point to go through the hastle just to save a few seconds on render time. and as you said theres not much headroom for overclocking so youre pretty much stuck at base speeds. at the end of the day its down to your chpice alone but i would save yourself the hastle and stick with 3200
  4. long time no see ? hope you're doing amazing! we have to catch up on how your oveclocking is going and how you are doing at you're job ?

  5. hey! so i recently had an idea to set up a conputer repair/building workshop in my local community and thought id get some advice to get started. there's one computer shop in my town and its pretty much run by the least tech knowhow people you could imagine, the youngest employee is 43 and when you ask for a pc the show you amazon prebuilts. i would like to set up a place where i can make custom rigs and share my knowledge of computers with the community. yes i am only 17 but i have the motovation to drive myself past what i think im capable of. if anyone has any advice on what
  6. the power supply is 750 bronze? it should be good im pretty sure. the aurus master is higher priced so would most likely go over my budget and you really dont need a £100+ power supply yes its better but not needed you can run an i9 9900k on a £10 cooler if you really wanted it would thermal throttle a lot though. the cooler im using ive used before so im pretty sure it should be fine. thanks for the advice though!
  7. ooo i look the look of that build only issue is the ram ive been using 16 gb for a while and it really limits what i can do render/graphics wise
  8. i looked into ryzen but some programs i use benefit from higher clockspeed. with ryzen ive made a threadripper build and Ryzen 7 2700x one but ive only ever used intel so have no experience with how ryzen performs in programs i use as i know it has issues with vegas pro
  9. fair, other than that is it a reasonable parts list? or would i be able to get more performance for the same price? (rendering, gaming)

  11. fair point lmao ive been thinking about this over night and will sent the parts list i made in a few minutes as i want second opinions so i dont end up wastinga load of money on parts that are not the best
  12. i love the look of that parts list just questioning some parts. with the cooler if i went for a slightly lower priced one and say an nzxt 500/500i would it make sense to get 64gb of ram instead of 32?
  13. also now questioning if i should get an i9 9900k instead due to some apps being able to benefit from integrated graphics+cpu+gpu rendering
  14. yes but there comes a point of deminishing returns. crossfire is loosing supported programs and has a lot higher power draw so would require a bigger psu. yes i wont deny the radeon is a well performing card but from experience of owning both amd and nvidia cards nvidia is more optimised for programs. i would have to have parts lists that i can compare with benchmarks though to see what would be best for my specific workloads but im not the best at compatibility when it comes to parts lists.
  15. havent watched all the way through yet but in the first 2 benchmark results rtx 2080ti is equal to the radeon and in the second its faster for youtube encoding. ill keep watching thanks for the link
