Apprently my GeForce 210 is at 94*C.

I just ran 3DMark on my PC and according to 3DMark my GeForce 210 temp is at 94*C. Is this an error or do I have to open up my computer and take a thermometer to my GPU?

It's still a safe temperature but perhaps you shouldn't be running 3Dmark on it.

you should not run 3dmark on that low end card it does not make any sense

 

if you really want to lower the temps remove the cooler

clean off  the thermal compound and apply new 

 

it helps most of the times

had a gt210, had gtx260 (sp216) still have my gtx 285 so I feel I have grounds to talk here...

gt210, yeah  its a hd output card for blu ray movies, media pc's and minecraft so dont waste your time running furmark etc on it, the passively cooled ones do get hot if a-your case has no airflow and b-if you stress them like furmark and c-have the single thicknedd cooled ones with no way of the heat getting out (say its tucked in behind a raid/sound card or something)

the ones with fans dont get too hot but they whine, I had a pny 512mb gt210 with the half height double slot cooler and with an 80mm fan pointed at it it never exceeded 75 in furmark (yeah i tried it), and passive in general use it only hit around 70, overclocking made no difference to performance or temps, i clocked it from stock 510 upto 675 or whatever was the maximum and memory from 600(or whatever) up to 666 purely because i figured it should be running at ddr3-1333.

everyone slags them off saying " sell it its worthless and save and get a real card" ignoring the fact the OP might be using it for a htpc or it may not be possible or whatever, ive figured its still 2-3 time better than onboard, the bang/buck isnt good for gaming and onboard is usually "okay" for most hd movies, i sold mine for £20 (nearly new price) my server now runs on terrible looking onboard (its nice to work in a nice looking enviroment) so if i saw one for £5 id probably buy one..

as for "200 series was the hottest" ive heard that 4 series was hotter and its just like the r9-290's people say they run hot...because the fans are at like 30% and no higher, use god damned fan profiles!!!

below 60% neither my gtx260 or 285 are audible over ambient (around 35db) and at 70% they are actually quieter than my reference 7770 and my friends 650ti.
whiche brings me on to my next point, I had the fan profile on the gtx260 set that it went 1%-1degreeC from 30*c and up
40%@40degree, 50%@50degree, 60%@60degree (only starts to be audible), and 70%@70degrees and it sat there in furmark and in games never going higher.
the gtx285 would sit at 75%@75 degrees (which is equal to a titan/780 btw) and that wasnt too bad especially for the 15% more performance.

ive seen a gtx295 for sale for £60 and im SOOO tempted (same gainward brand as my gtx285) just to add to my collection but im too tight and if i start collecting dual gpus then ill have to get a 590 later and...no (480,580,680, 780ti eventually)

so just keep it clean free some breathing space around it and stop running useless tests, if your overclocking and stress testing...just whack up the sliders and see if it crashes on these cards it doesnt matter "how stable" they are.

The Fermi series (400s/500s) were the hottest chips nvidia made, not the 200 series. The 480 idled around 70C and loaded anywhere from 90 to 100C depending on your ambients without a problem at all. Pretty much all graphic cards don't have problems running that hot unless you're beyond the point of stability for the clock speed that you are running. Only the R9 290/290X hawaii gpu's have run into that problem trying to maintain stock speeds.

 

Your GT210 is very far from reaching the danger zone. Even more so for "normal" operation.

As to the GT210 - I'm working on one right now and it goes anywhere between 60-80 (not even 50% load)

Mine was overclocked from 700 to 820 and fan would hit upto 60% speed and just become noticable. Nvidia did a better job with the cooler on the 480 fan than amd did on the r9-290(x).
