After the latest windows 10 update, audio is out

Hey guys,

 

Yesterday after installing the latest update from windows my audio had gone out (cross symbol next to speaker icon) . I tried troubleshooting but the PC didn't detect speakers connected to it and instead tried to find devices connected via HDMI (mine are connected via default 3.5 mm jack). Screenshots are provided below for clarity. Later i tried uninstalling existing audio drivers and restarting the PC to let windows install default drivers but that didn't fix the issue. I use windows 10 pro edition 64 bit , 8 GB RAM , AMD ryzen 5 1600 processor. I used Dolby Digital Plus audio prior to the windows update . Does anyone know how to fix this issue ?

Interesting.  I've had an audio issue for the last couple days as well, not sure if related to Windows Update but the timing is coincidental.

 

I use my Logitech headphones for voice chat (set as Default Communications Device) and my desktop speakers for game audio (Default Device).  Last couple says, I get static when people talk, and last night I put it ALL to the speakers and I had voice audio in my headphones.  Completely messed up.

 

Gives me something to look into.  Hope you get yours fixed.
