AdBlock On vs Off Browser Speeds

I've recently began to use AdBlock mainly for YouTube, obviously whitelisting some of my favorites. I don't know if it's just me or Chrome itself, but does anyone else happen to find that AdBlock takes a noticeable hit on browser speeds?

Again, literally may be my eyes but whenever I don't use AdBlock, everything just seems quicker to load.

I use AdBlock with Chrome too and I find that while it does slow down a bit, I don't really notice it too much. That's probably because I've been using it for quite a while though..

Once you disable AdBlock, you'll feel the speed, I tell you! :D

Yeah I guess you're right. I'm going to time how long it takes to load YouTube with and without AdBlock on as I have literally nothing else to do :)

Alright I have the results.

With AdBlock - 2.42 seconds

Without AdBlock - 3.70 seconds

I'm guessing it's internet connection not AdBlock at this point lol.

I, certainly, do see a nice boost in page-loading speeds with Ublock Origin enabled. Then again, I use Firefox, not Chrome, and I use Ublock Origin, not that bloated piece of garbage of Adblock.

Odd, I guess both could play a role, to be fair.

Now I really need to try Ublock, handy that's a Chrome extension too.
