Air Cooler Recommendation...

Hi, I am wanting to build a PC using the NZXT h200 case and the i7 8700k CPU.

I am wondering what your recommendation for the best air cooler for that case would be.

I don't want to spend more than £50 and I'm also not planning to overclock it at the moment.

Hyper 212 EVO. Live the meme.

Hyper 212 is super popular and works fantastic for its price. Cryorig makes a good cooler for just a tad more and you might like the look of it better, be quiets dark rock series is good, and noctua has some good coolers as well but these can be a good jump up in price. H212 evo is like 20-30$ US and the cryorig is only like 25-35$.

Tier 6 at minimum. If you know what you are doing, you can go with tier 7. By this I mean that you either are comfortable running with higher temps, or know how to set manual voltage, preferably with offset.

Scythe Mugen 5 would fit easily to that price.

Though you might want to ask them if they're going to replace it with Rev B/SCMG-5100 in their product listing.

I don't think Scythe anymore makes original Mugen 5 without AM4 compatible mounting kit.

Mugen 5 beats many cheaper AIOs in cooling vs noise and is free from any DIMM/PCI-e slit clearance issues.

Why not oc with a 8700k? If that's what you want to do, a Leto would be fine: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/6QPKHx/raijintek-leto-w-670-cfm-cpu-cooler-0r100061

If you decide to oc, Macho Rev. B: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/4TCrxr/thermalright-cpu-cooler-machorevb
