Hey Everyone,

So last year I built this (but never finished the build log...sorry). End the end I had planned on using a Corsair Commander Pro and some Silverstone CPF04 PWM splitters. Well, it's been a nightmare to say the least. My CPU loop is running off the motherboard and my GPU loop and front fans are running off the commander pro all because nothing would work right.

In the first few months, I lost one of the EK Vardar fans on the front. A few weeks later one of the primary GPU radiator fans and now another of the front fans.

So 3 dead fans (and another sounds like it's not far off every now and then) two on the same splitter is starting to make me suspect the splitters are the cause of the issue. I think I have two options, troubleshoot the problem more and swap out the splitters with something else or replace the whole janky setup with something more fit for the job.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Or should I just suck it up and get an Aquaero and some Splitty 9's?

You can’t go wrong with the aquereo. Cept they’ve started charging for their software. Think they demoed it powering 20 fans on one header... that’s pretty crazy. Used to run 6 noctua industrial 2000 rpm fans on one header until recently. ( just dismantled the enitre system)

but if you only intend to use it for running fans, it’s a bit overkill as you pay for all the things it can do.

Use a 2-pin temperature header and a bunch of PWM splitters i do this on my quad gpu TtlR build and nothing has died in a year (as should be the case).

The current setup is two loops
CPU (Threadripper 1950X) - 1 EK D5 Pump Res, 8 EK 120mm Vardar Fans on a push/pull rad

GPU (2X GTX1080TI's) - 1 EK D5 Pump Res, 8 EK 140mm Vardar Evo Fans on two push radiators (One of these is dead)

Case Fans, 1 Rear EK 120mm Vardar Fan, 3 EK 140mm Vardar Evo Fans (Two of these are dead)

No match for the new controllers :) Think it has 4 pwm headers. My old unit even included thermal probes that you can hook up for more precise thermal readings than supplied by the built in hardware sensors or if you wish to base your fan speeds on water temps
