I couldn't watch the show again. Like last week I was unable to watch the show cause of the constant refresh circle came up every minute and the skip to catch up. I tried everything to refreshing the site to setting it to low quality to checking other channels. Other channels worked fine and also streaming youtube and Netflix. I'm not sure what is going on, but ever since you fellas got the fiber I haven't been able to watch the show. Now I don't really think that getting the fiber is the problem or that it's on your end at all, I think twitch is the issue. I just hope something gets fixed soon cause I like watching the show when it's live and my last 2 Friday nights have been out of sorts and felt confused on what to do with myself.

i just lower down the quality to low and just listen to the audio while doing other things.

I do that too, but I'm sleeping when this is so I do it on youtube instead. I play World of tanks while listening to this at 240p.

did you guy's even read what I typed? Youtube is Fine, Other channels are fine on twitch, Netflix is fine. I lowered the quality to low. I'm just having problems with the WAN Show. I can steam the show just fine on youtube, I just can't watch it live. Maybe the WAN Show channel is just to popular and so many people are watching that I'm just not getting enough bandwidth.

P.S. I also get 1.5MB/s down and 1024KB/s up.

I'm not sure how in the world other channels are fine for you. Also they stream at around 250/300 kilo bytes per second while your internet is only 1.5 megabits per second. So actually your internet speed is around 150/200 kilo bytes per second which is slower then what they stream. So sorry dude but unless you upgrade your internet it looks like you won't be able to watch it live. I've got 25down and 6up which is really 3.4mega bytes down and 700kilo bytes up. You really need to upgrade. I'm guessing you have windstream as a internet service. They are the slowest of the slow. They give you internet over telephone lines which is very slow. If you have comcast or some other service you should be able to just pay more for faster but with windstream you can't really upgrade. So let me know what service provider you have.

Turn the quality down. They recently increased the bitrate, so that's likely to be the issue. It is possible that 1.5Mb/s isn't enough for even the lowest quality offered, in which case you're going to have to watch it archived or get better internet. Sorry.

I get between 6.5Mb/s to 8Mb/s and again I can't watch the show this weekend, but I can watch other channels just fine. Well I'm just going to stop trying to watch this show all to gather. It's making me want to pull my hair out. I just wish they would go back to the old set up so I can watch it live again. I still don't understand why I can watch all the other Twitch channels just fine but not Linus. Even if they did up there speed it shouldn't effect my connection.

P.S. I tried all 3 of my PC's and still no good.

  • 3 weeks later...

What ever was changed in the WAN Show tonight (1/24/14) I was able to watch it with no issue's on high. If there was nothing changed on the Show's side then maybe it was Twitch that fixed something, so in all, it was good to see it live once again even thought I only caught the last 20-25 minutes of it but, it didn't lag or load or skip one time.

In the future, you can just download an add-on from Firefox called Video DownloadHelper.  This will pretty much allow you to download any video source that does not have copyright protection.  Just make sure that the videos that you are downloading are given the okay to download by the content creator.

My PC specifications are in my profile.
