Why does Touch ID login on phone not work unless I wipe it every time?

Clean the sensor and your finger, also rescanning your fingerprint will help.

I reduced this occurring by programming my fingerprints after I hadn't washed my hands in a little while. Not dirty per se, but not fresh washed either. That being said, you shouldn't have to do this. Also make sure your TouchID sensor is free of any smudges or dirt.

Have you cleaned your phone with any screen cleaners or alcohol wipes or wet wipes? They contain chemicals that break down the oleophobic coating on phone screens and especially the TouchID sensor. I made the mistake with my iPhone and the sensor gets all oily and dirty after only a few uses. Only use water.

Maybe you're living it some moist area or your finger sweats so you gotta make that capacitive reader clean everytime.
