Wanting to stream games

I am looking to stream games but while streaming, I noticed that my system hasn't been able to hold up well.

i5 4670K - Not overclocked

ASRock Z87M

16GB DDR3 1333

R9 270X 4GB

120GB SSD

1TB HDD

I have a decent system, but is there anything I can do to improve streaming quality?

Should I move platforms to something like Ryzen, or is it just not worth it?

Try to use gpu decoding using amd relive first.

But yes if you want to use gpu decoding ryzen is worth it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the proper term "encoding", not "decoding"?

Yes, it is.

Yup, encoding.

You could stream games from another PC or from a service and livestream that but the increased latency would probably make it unwatchable.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Get a second PC (doesn't have to be that powerful but it should be something like yours, an i3 should be enough) and some kind of HDMI IN Card and do it with that.

I don't think it is. I'm not Sure in this Regard.

But what I know is that the VCEs were enhanced with GCN2 and later dramatically.

The 270x isn't any more than an old Pitcairn Chip aka HD7870.

If you want to stream, yes it is worth it and a solution. But there are others as well. And you should at least think about them and know them.

At the moment, you have 3 Options:

a) Replace the Graphics card and use the Graphics ancoder (wich you need to do anyway, and rather soon)

b) Replace the CPU/Motherboard and Memory

c) Build a second PC and feed the Signal into that and record it and stream it.

Personally, I'd go with the new Graphics card and then see if that is enough or not. And then think about the other two options. Need it anyway...

Yep,

Encoding -> doing stuff to save/archieve it or upload it.

Deccoding -> doing stuff to use it (like Watch the Video).
