Hi guys,

I have a PC at the moment that can only run games at fairly low settings, however it is not my CPU thats bottlenecking anything, its my GTX 545. I'm looking at the GTX 780 and i was wondering what people's favorite none reference designs are. I cannot stretch by budget for a 780 TI but would be happy to invest a bit more when it comes to looking good and running quiet and cool.

Cheers for your help in advance,

Rich

I think the DCU2 is the way forward to be honest. Looking at that or the wind force most likely.

Hey, to each his own. I don't blame you, everyone has different tastes.

They all seem to perform nearly identical to each other. I'm going with Asus DC2 because it matches my overall color scheme.

I think im going to go with the DCU2 Because of the look of the card and it runs quietly according to most sources..

The MSI Twin Frozr 4 and the Asus DCU II are good coolers.

I like the gigabyte windforce cooler honestly. I find their cards are a bit cheaper most of the time, and very good at cooling. however most coolers are rather close to eachother performance wise, a lot of it is just about aesthetics. I do also believe linus has a reference cooler video on his channel.

Given that the GTX 545 is OEM only, I suspect your computer is a pre-built system?
If so, re-calculate your spending again...because you may need to spend some money on a power supply replacement as well.

Additionally, what is the make (brand) and model of your computer?

Can you give some specs? (i.e. CPU / processor, motherboard, power supply presently being used, etc).

To answer your question, IMO (in no particular order):

  • ASUS Direct CUII
  • EVGA ACX
  • MSi TwinFrozr series

AMD Ryzen 9000 Rig

  • AMD R7 9800X3D + Alphacool CORE 1 w/ Performance Mount Kit + Thermal Grizzly AM5 Contact Frame
  • Gigabyte X870E Aorus Pro Ice

  • WD SN850X + WD SN750 + Samsung 980

It is a pre-built system, i know i need to make upgrades and i do have another thread on PSU upgrades, however i am considering delaying my GPU upgrade and going for a whole system upgrade first and then going for a GPU upgrade.

I do like their cooler however in the UK i find that their cards are not much cheaper at all and i personally think the DCU2 looks better,
