No video: Problem with GPU, MOBO?

Just started setting up my GPU since I received it in the mail.

It's an Aorus 1080 Ti.

I'm using a Gigabyte b360n mobo.

And I have a Sharp 4K TV with a 2.0 HDMI.

I installed the GPU and connect my HDMI to my mobo to start installing software needed for the GPU.

But had no video. So I plugged in the HDMI to the GPU just to see if it worked without software, no video.

Unhooked my GPU. Installed the aorus gaming software. Tried installing Nvidia GeForce experience, but couldn't because it required an Nvidia card.

But I'm getting no video output when the card is in... So... what do I do?

Did you plug in the PCI-e to the card?

If you have a local PC shop, they might be able to help you just test the card for free...

Otherwise maybe try a different HDMI port on the card in the meantime?

I may just need to update my Uefi (bios), as I've read.

I'll let you know what happens when I get to doing that and retesting it.

Or that, but that's pretty unlikely given that it's a modern motherboard.

Could be that your motherboard needs to be set to the dedicated GPU after it's installed maybe...probably not.

same thing happened to me, tested everything, thought it was my mobo, so i ordered a new one, same problem , then i accidently hit esc at boot and it started working, so try hitting esc or f1-f12 keys it might fix it if ur mobo firmware is messed up

What do you mean set the mobo/GPU?

In your bios there might be an option to turn on/off the integrated GPU, probably not an issue though.

Erm. If I turn off the iGpu wouldn't that stop video output anyway?

Does iGpu work? Did you plug power into the card? Should be 2 8 pin connectors.

Wouldn't worry about it, probably not the solution, but you  can just reset your BIOS after if there's an issue by removing the CMOS.

Yes I get video output, but only if the Ti isn't connected.

Yes, I plugged in the two 8 pins. Lights on the graphics card as well as the fans are on.

Though wait, my PSU cables have 1 cable with multiple 8 pin connectors. Like there's an 8 pin connector at the end, and one attached about 4" below it.

What about if I tried 2 different cables, with the pci 8 pin on different cables plugged into the GPU?

On another note, I did have problems with starting up my PC yesterday, which my response was to reset the CMOS by unplugging the mobos battery for a bit...

A daisy chained cable will work fine for normal use.

Alright so... I've updated the Uefi and tried again. Still no video.

Every time I plug in my HDMI into any port my tv will display "signal received", while unplugging will say "signal lost".

Would having to update the Chipset and Graphics Drivers have anything to do with It?

You don't have any other display to test the GPU with?

I do. But there's nothing wrong with the one I'm using.

Uhm now I have no video output even without the GPU???

Tried my other display. It works without the GPU now. I'm going to update my drivers and then test with the GPU again.

Use it on the display that works and set the resolution to as low as it goes.

Or are you sure you selected the correct HDMI input on the TV? If your GPU is working your iGPU will be disabled usually.

I'm using x1024 res on a 1080p TV.

It's the right input on my tv, as I said it works on this other display without the Ti.

With the Ti , just like before, no output.
