Star Citizen.

But right now is steam sale. So just throw all the money you have left at the monitor.

I can recommend:

Metro (both)

Max Payne

Bioshock

Far Cry 3

And in those games you'll see some really really nice graphics too.

Tomb Raider

War Thunder (F2P)

Portal 2

Prison Architect

Planet Side 2 (F2P)

Hotline Miami

Just Cause 2 (Great for mods)

Kerbal Space Program

Far Cry 3, Crysis 3, Metro Last Light, The unlimited supply of indie games on the web(http://gamejolt.com/), Skyrim(Mods that you cant get on console give the game 100s of hours of extra playtime),  and this might not make sense but Minecraft, It is so far ahead of console version of minecraft and if you get tekkit its a whole new game, And anything else on sale on steam Gmod is 5 bucks atm

Depending on your preference:

Diablo II - Old-school top down hack 'n slash but amazing!

Path of Exile - Much like Diablo...

Gothic series - don't get put of by the graphics... The story and the mood is where this game scores high.

Gmod and Valve games in general - Really fun and entertaining games.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Because it's amazing and mods are cool too.

Dear Esther - More like an interactive story... but dem feels.

Saints Row 3 & 4 - I mean who doesn't want to be a President of United States that runs around town with a turban on his head, butt naked and hits people with a large purple dildo xD

Minecraft - It's like Lego with a survival aspect to it...

The Witcher - Amazing RPG with a very interesting storyline.

Battlefield 3 & 4 - Spent hundreds of hours on it and it's brilliant once you get into it.

Tomb Raider (2013) - Really nice adventure/puzzle game and Lara Croft... I mean you can't go wrong.
