Why in the world, HTC?

The HTC U12+ doesn't come with a headphone dongle.

Like, why? There's no headphone jack, so you have to use a dongle, but it isn't supplied.

Not to mention that the dongle you have that came with another phone likely won't work unless it's made by Google.

HTC isn't a very big company, on the global scale, so they can get away with basically anything they want. It sucks, but it's true. Take the Vive Pro, for example.

Can it be confirmed whether the phone supports analog output over USB-C? If it does, your options open up greatly to a bunch of dirt cheap adapters. Otherwise, the dongle will need to have it's own amp and DAC.

You might be able to get other such dongles to work, which I might advise looking into as Google's dongle amp is very barely adequate for driving my Sennheiser Momentum On-Ears, headphones not known for being particularly difficult to drive.

Don’t know. If you plug in HTC’s dongle, it pops up a system message saying that it is ready for use
