Ryzen second gen on b350 motherboard

Is a bios update still required for a b350 motherboard for ryzen second gen? Or is a new b350 motherboard (buying soon) already working with ryzen second generation without a bios update?

So either go with R5 1600/ b350, or R5 2600/ x470, or risk it?

Some are and some aren't. Personally I have Ryzen gen1 laying around so not an issue for me but if you don't and don't want to deal with AMD boot kit it might be worth investing in an X470 - you get some nice extra features anyways

I think it's worth it to step up to the 2600 and X470 for XFR-2, but it's up to you

I was planing to go with the b350 to save money, but I'll see if I can squeeze a x470 into the budget. Prices are crazy up here in Canada.
