Best 1080 Ti Variant

Phizix

Hi all,

So I'm currently in the market for a 1080Ti and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the best 1080 Ti, I'm not necessarily saying the most expensive but the best 'all-rounder' I guess. Something that doesn't have coil whine (or much of it), a good overclocker and from a decent brand. Founders editions cards aren't welcome as I won't be watercooling.

I've currently got my sights set on an EVGA SC2 card.

For measure I'm going to be placing this with a delidded 8700k & Maximus Hero motherboard.

Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.

EVGA cards are pretty much your best in terms of price, performance, and Warranty support should you ever need it.

coil whine depends on luck (on getting a card without one, since every card can have this problem), overclockability depends mostly on luck once filtering the bad ones (which are few).

I'd call the FTW3 the best all-rounder. EVGA is the only company I know that accepts 'coil whine' as a reason for RMA so there's only 1 brand. The Hybrid cards are out of question because you want air cooling, Kingpin is bad because it's very expensive.

Choice between SC and FTW is much more difficult. I'd still prefer the FTW because it does have a higher power limit and better cooling than the SC without being overpriced.

The kingpin one is probably one of the best option if you want pure air. Sadly it's not available (and i don't think it ever will).

Or go hybrid, that's a good option as well.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3
