WD Black vs Gold

Should I pick WD Black or Gold for my new build? They both cost the same here.

what are you using the hdd for?

 

gold is normally better, but for a desktop id just get a cheaper blue or barracuda.

Why would you ever suggest a green? (unless OP is buying a 1TB)

 

personally I would forkout a little bit more for a red, or Toshiba.

because for what most people are storing(media, games played less often) it will make almost no difference, and there quieter and lower power.

Trust me, for $20 you don't get this BS: This a a new 6TB drive I got back in Dec. It mostly idles, but if I decide to watch something on it or use it this is what happens.

Also for what it's worth I think Seagate is a bad idea, but that's from my own experience (all my drives from them died within the warranty period)

 

Edit: grabbed the wrong charts, fixed it now... Also here is my windows install drive from Toshiba It's about a year old.
