What is the name of the monster?

I guess it's meant to be mounted vertically with fans blowing upwards, assuming the case has vents on the top.

Either that is a really really big heat sink or a tiny chassis xD Rather than leave the side panel off all the time though maybe you could route the fan's connectors through those liquid cooling holes at the top of the case? You could also maybe have just used some zip ties to strap the fan on utilizing the grille meant for the fan to keep things a little neater and you wouldn't have to worry about the tape falling off.

I once did the unthinkable, back many headphones ago...

I split an audio split, again

The cpu cooler is lucifer k2, the case is cooler master K350, the fan on the outside is supposed to be exactly at the same place but on the inside, which is why on the outside the screws don't work, they literally can't be placed into the holes of the fan, also between the fan on the outside and the case there are small holes that I've circled here in red, this is where the fan is currently sitting

as6swN4.jpg

So I guess it has slightly worse cooling cuz of these holes? On the inside, the holes would be on the left side of the fan and the heatsink would be on the right, currently on the outside, air is on the left side of the fan and holes are on the right

If you're talking about the fan on the outside and assuming it's an "exhaust" fan, it's losing efficiency because there's not a good enough seal per se around the mount. So it's just circulating a lot of ambient air.

Hey man if it works lol. Before I seriously upgraded my pc my old cpu fan was tied to my heatsink with string because I broke the standard mounting hardware and was too poor to buy a new one lmao.

Wouldn't that require for the motherboard to be placed on the bottom side of the case? Or on the side but horizontally so that the fan on the heatsink faces the top? Are there even cases where the motherboard is not meant to be mounted vertically on the side?

My panel is not off, the cables are passing next to the I/O of the gpu, but that's not a bad idea, I didn't even notice these liquid holes, guess Ima try routing them through there

Yes it's an exhaust fan, but I couldn't understand the rest of what you said :D What do you mean there's not a good enough seal? How can it be circulating ambient air, it's supposed to get air from inside the case and put it outside the case :D

Nah bro, there's like almost ZERO space between the heatsink and the I/O, it will have to be an intangible fan :D , or at least much slimmer than what I think you mean by slim

It's a tough life being a tape man...  guess I gotta apply more tape, I have applied equal tape on the top and bottom sides of the fans, but for some reason the top tape seems to be stronger and holding the fan better than the bottom tape, perhaps cuz the top tape is taped on the top of the case while the bottom is not taped below the case but on the side thus the suction is weaker? Ahh I wish I bought a full tower or I checked how big the heatsink is...

The heatsink's dimensions are 140×110×163mm , 110mm is the side which I'm having trouble fitting in, so swapping 110 with either 140 or 163 is gonna end up even worse (I'm not sure which side is 140mm and which 163mm, but I 100% know that the horizontal side which is seen in picture #2 in my first post is the 110mm side) Although the fan adds +21.5mm, so technically it's 131.5mm if we include the fan, still the shortest side

The heat sink looks wider so might not work, plus where the top vent is it wouldn't be worthwhile because only half of it would vent out properly.

that's why I say the case needs a vent on the top for it to work.

As this icture shows, the baseplate is offset to one side. I mean the short side should point upwards. You can make it point to the left instead, but the long right side could block RAM.

You mean that the bottom side, which is the short side, marked with a red line, should now be on the top side, marked with a green line? That could happen, but then I wouldn't be able to put my fan, cuz there still wouldn't be enough space on the left side, and the brackets can only be mounted on the side with a blue line, not on the side with a yellow line (at least I think so, but even if possible, what would be the benefit)

22 minutes ago, Jurrunio said:

But what's the benefit of that? The vent on the top doesn't match the position of the fan if the fan was on the top side of the heatsink, even half of the air venting is a stretch, it's more like a third. Besides, I used the best editor in the world, Paint, to rotate the fan 90 degrees to the left to show you what I think would happen if I were to do that

The short side is 131.5mm, the long side is 146.5mm, so 146.5-131.5=15mm, so an additional 7.5 mm on each side. Probably won't block the ram, but I don't think I have 7.5mm free space on the left side, see how the heatsink enters the case, as if it's a ghost

Do you have some special mobo? From all other photos I've seen, you should have space for normal 26mm fan inside the case. That cooler isn't so big, and case isn't so tight that it wouldn't.
