Best monitor options for 1050 ti?

mangomagic

Will be using GTX 1050 Ti 4GB paired with a i7-8700 cpu. I'll mainly be doing music production with some gaming (only playing DOTA 2). I want to run a dual monitor setup and was wondering what the best bang for my buck would be. 144hz? 1080p?

The 1050ti isn't powerful enough for the 8700k. It would be a bottleneck. Upgrade to a 1060 6GB at the LEAST.

With the 1060, a 1080P monitor at 120Hz will be fine.

1080p 144Hz is fine for playing Dota with this system, though dont expect much for more demanding games.

if you play dota 1080 144hz, if you want to play other things you can still game pretty fine at 1080p 60hz -high settings sometimes. other than that a 1060 will do you better, but if your thing is dota then 1050ti is more than enough

What kind of demanding games today that won't run on 1050ti perfectly?
I'm running 1050ti and few 1050 no problem running almost everything on 1080p med/high settings 60fps

sure there's dips, but still within reasonable limit

With dota2 and other source games you will get 100+ fps easily.

People underestimate 1050/1050Ti too often, most comparison even setting it at high/veryhigh/ultra to make it more distinguishable.

Agree with this guy. my laptop has a 1050ti and it is quite impressive I even hit 1440p 70hz at high details in fornite. Runs dark souls just fine 1080p, etc etc.

i would get the cheapest 1080p monitor that is 24'' 60hz for secondary display and the cheapest 1080p 24'' 120hz+ Gsync monitor for primary.

in US right now this would look like this:
