can i upgrade ??

i have a HP 8000 Elite CMT with C2D E7500 2.93GHz with GT 710 1GB and 6GB RAM, can i upgrade to C2Q Q9550 2.83GHz with stock mbo and C2D stock heatsink

Not guaranteed. E7500 has 1066MHz FSB, while Q9550 has 1333MHz FSB. For compatibility reasons, get Q6600 or Q6700 since they have 1066MHz FSB.

The Q6700 is probably the safer bet as mentioned above... you can still tape mode it for an extra overclock:

These old Core2Duo and Core2Quad stock coolers have noticeable better heatsinks than current stock coolers so I think you'll be fine with it if you don't mind the noise.

i don't know 1066MHz FSB is but my ram is 1333MHz
+ i'll try it cuz its a very good deal im getting it for 15$ and 2GB RAM DDR3 for 5$

according to hp spec page the machine supports all upper end c2q 1333 cpu's

Search for q9550 in Google for Intel's spec page for this CPU. FSB is different to memory frequency.

well the guy i'm buying the cpu only has Q9550 for 15$ and Q9400 for 10$

don't ask a question waiting for the answer you want to hear , listen and absorb every response. becuase yes socket 775 machine can have fsb incompatibilities , so it's worth noting even if it's not the answer you want to hear.

thanks but if that happens i'll give back the cpu to the owner and get the money back, cu'z i'm buying the cpu at my town not online he told me if the worst case happens that it won't work i will give you back the money
