Anyways its annoying to leave a match, be in a rush, then get stuck on booting the OS and Steam and Discord for a solid minute.

Ok then get a sata SSD.

What is a good NVME SSD with a fast boot time? I have 200 dollars.

I recommend the Samsung 960 Evo. you could get the 250 GB version for $120 on amazon right now or you could pay 225 for the 500 GB version.

Would that interfere with PCIE lanes? All my specs are in my signature

An NVMe SSD will almost always be slower to boot than a good SATA SSD because of the access times for a PCIe-based drive.

Something like an 860 EVO would be fine. 99% of people are just wasting money buying PCIe SSDs as they don't do transfers where the speed will be noticeable.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I'd argue boot time is only relevant if you're actually rebooting that often.

However I'd also argue that NVMe drives aren't worthwhile for consumers because they don't offer appreciably better performance in practice anyway.

NVME is a waste of money for boot time.

It is not any faster than a regular SATA SSD, sometimes even slower.

If you're spending money just to reduce your boot time then you should reevaluate what the point of having a computer is.

The benefit from an SSD is for more useful to programs and files than to boot time.

If you want a fast boot time then leave your PC on 24/7 or just use sleep.

I wanted a faster boot time because my computer crashes occasionally from experimental games and such. And PUBG Test. And maybe my overclock. *Not an often occurrence, but had it happen twice today for the first time in like 4 months, no changes made to OC*
