i7 8700k@4.7GHz all cores

ali_alper

Hello;

Will the Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3 be able to cool the 8700k at 4.7 GHz(6 Cores OC).

Thank you

Yes, probably. How much voltage and cooling you'll need for a certain oc will vary depending on your luck but 4.7ghz isn't very high.

Thank you WoodenMarker. Do you have any idea about how the temps will be?

It will depend on the type of load, ambient temps, case airflow, and how much voltage you need for the oc.

You can probably hit 4.7ghz+ with temps under 80c though.

Alright, thank you. Will there be a difference if I used the Dark Rock Pro 3?

The DRP3 is larger and performs better but it isn't necessary if you're not aiming for higher oc's.

Hello, which air cooler would be sufficient and keep things nice and cool with the I7 8700k@4.7GHz on all cores?Could you possibly recommend a liquid cooler if an air cooler won't do it?

Thank you.

At least a Cryorig H7 then. I'd probably play safe and get the H5 instead.

I would say go big first time. It's a piece of metal and a fan. These things don't die (gives sideways glance at AIOs) so you might as well get a good one for a bit more

That's an F in the profile pic

Really? I was thinking the Dark Rock 3, but just wanted to make sure before I make my move. How much do you think the 8700K will go with that cooler?  Thank you.

Not the dark rock pro, but the dark rock 3 or dark rock pro 3 would be perfect.  The 8700k makes a lot of heat so I'd go with that.  It's about $60-$80

Try using the PSU Tier List!

be quiet! DARK ROCK PRO 3 Silentwings CPU Cooler 250W TDP - BK019 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA25V5YK7778

Get this and you’ll be set for a long time. People on OC3D have been consistently hitting 5.0Ghz with voltage around 1.32. I’d look up some of their threads on the results.
