help me with page file

All I know about page file is it's like virtual RAM and the system uses it when our actual RAM isn't enough.Let's say that I have 4GB RAM and I use 30 tabs and I'm starting to use the information from the page file. But what's the point of buying RAM with more memory if we can have page file? What's the point to buy 16GB RAM if I have 4GB RAM and 12GB page file?Tbh I thought that for example if I open 30+ tabs on 4GB RAM,my OS will freeze or maybe the browser will crash, because I don't have any free storage for information(RAM).By that logic I can use 666 tabs until I don't have enough memory even for a page file?

A page file isn't the same as RAM, it is slower.

You seem to not know that much about how it actually works (which is normal, since it can get pretty complex for a beginner)

May I suggest watching this :

I found this helpful back when I didn't exactly grasp the concept of this file ;)

Lets hope Papa Linus helps out!

The advantage it that ram is much faster than an HDD or even an SSD

No because the system will crash if it gets to the point it needs too much from the pagefile remembering that its read and write speeds are much slower than actual memory ram, you'll choke the application resulting in the crash.

Pagefile is supposed to be extension of RAM. In reality it doesn't work like that. I guess software developers are trusting on user having enough page file even if they might not have enough RAM. This means that many software require you to have some pagefile to even work properly. I've had system freak out when it didn't find any pagefile on startup (meaning that my HDD wasn't showing in Windows and SSD didn't have any pagefile).
