Shadowplay Twitch Streaming

http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/shadowplay-twitch-streaming

- Will attempt to use it for the afterparty

- Detailed instructions for setup on the site

- Due to H.264 there should be significantly lower system performance required

- Requires 600/700 series cards

- its still in beta - alt tab interrupts stream, limited functionality compared to dedicated broadcast software like xsplit, still no Linux (maybe will coincide with steam box launch?)

Avago to acquire LSI

http://anandtech.com/show/7588/avago-to-acquire-lsi

- sandforce IP also included of course

- Not just the guys that make sensors for your mice, they’re kind of a big deal

- Looks like it will be a non-destructive take over

Bittorrent Sync Makes Personal Cloud Easily Attainable

http://www.bittorrent.com/sync

- Private cloud

- access on multiple devices

- different “groups” by just having different settings for different folders i.e. work/family/friends

- allows for remote access OR sync storage (you can access massive amounts of data on your -phone without HAVING it on you phone)

- Sync never stores your files on servers, so they stay safe from data breaches and prying eyes.

- Data size is only limited by the size of your storage

- Bandwidth is only limited by your available bandwidth from your ISP

- (linus) simplicity of configuration will be the selling point for me. can talk about importance of offsite backup, Can talk about how I feel about cloud storage.

- No speed increases

- the 18 cores will be Xeon chips

- 8 and 10 core consumer and workstation chips

- Gold plated? Probably still ruins disks ;)

- If you bought a normal one off shelf you could probably get it gold plated privately for cheaper

- Goldgenie.com doesn’t have an xbone yet but they sell a 360 gold plated for about $1235 Canadian or £707.50

- What IS the difference between a small PC and a “steambox” or console.

Nothing. They are all the same. A computer in a small form factor (to be used with a television in the living room/family room). The Steam Box / Steam Machines are also consoles. Of course, Valve won't call it that because PC gamers would get #butthurt over it. They are calling it that for marketing reasons.

Listening to the show now, the topic where Jay talks about the HVAC failing and having to log into each console to shut the machines down manually is stupid. Poor Systems Administration there really... Should have a way to shut down everything in emergency.

I agree with this, I don't want the table of contents to go away. I know it says coming soon. I tend to watch the entire stream anyway but it is nice to have the table of contents.
