Hi, i'm relatively new to computer build and i would like to upgrade my pc but i don't know if i need to buy an other psu.

CPU : intel i5-4590 https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00K5J22GG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

GPU : EVGA 1050 SC https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B01M5FSDS9/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

PSU : Corsair CP-9020097-EU VS 550 https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00LMBWSI8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

RAM : 2x 4g ballistix sport ddr3 https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B006YG94Y2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

HDD : Western Digital Purple 1TB https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00IMPO5VU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

SSD : Kingston A400 480GB https://www.amazon.fr/Kingston-SSD-A400-480GB-Disque/dp/B01N0TQPQB/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523621174&sr=8-1&keywords=kingston+a400+480g

PCI Express : TP-Linl archer T9E https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00TQEX7AQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So i would like to upgrade to an 1080 (https://www.amazon.fr/Carte-Graphique-Gigabyte-GeForce-1080/dp/B01J66BMXC/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1523621237&sr=1-1&keywords=1080)

My question is do i need to change my psu ? Am i at risk to burn my pc with this one if i upgrade ?

I have check on power supply calculator (https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator) and it says that my load wattage is : 403 W and  a recommended of  453W

Thank you in advance,

Have a nice day

This is a rather low quality PSU, so I would upgrade to something higher quality. The 550W Seasonic Focus Plus Gold is a very nice PSU for the money.

That said, I don't think a GTX1080 is a smart move with that CPU. It's going to bottleneck unless you're going to play at 1440p or higher.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Your PSU is probably fine for now, It probably won't do any damage in the short run. However, if it's your main system and you use it a lot, you should treat your system right and get a better and more powerful PSU anyway. Better safe than sorry.

There's a nice PSU tier list pinned in the "Cases and Powersupplies" category here.

Main rig: i7 8086K // EVGA Z370 Micro // 16GB Gskill TridentZ 3200Mhz CL14 // Sapphire Pulse RX 7800XT// a variety of noctua cooling // Corsair RM750x v2 //  Fractal Meshify C

Secondary rig: R5 3600 // MSI B450i Gaming Plus // 16GB Gskill FlareX 3200CL14 // MSI GTX 1080ti Gaming X // Cooler Master V650 // Fractal Meshify C

Audio setup: Audient iD4 // Adam A7X // Sennheiser HD 650 // Sennheiser HD 25-II // Audio Technica M50x // Sennheiser Momentum 4

If OP plans on upgrading the CPU/MB in a few years but keep the 1080 which will still do fine many years, I don't see the problem. I assume this is the case. If not, I agree with you.

ok thanks all of you ;)

Upgrade that thing right now. You are risking a $500 card with that PSU.
