the cheapest that has 2 fans, or possibly 3 if it is good enough , there aren't many differences other than cooling and possibly PCIe power (but nvidia has encrypted + locked the BIOS and has set a voltage limit so you can't really overclock a lot)

it matters by RMA experience, MSI is pretty good, ASUS is known to be shit but my experiences have been <3, no idea about gigabyte, etc

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Depends on the card and used or new.

I prefer evga, Asus it nvidia branded.

Also depends on looks. Fancy air coolers I’ll stick to the same brand. But I prefer reference as I tend to water cool anyway.

400-500 depends on card and condition.

Given the choice I'll always take the ASUS STRIX cards, but ASUS, EVGA, and Gigabyte cards are all great. I'd just generally avoid MSI because their coolers are MShIt

Yes.

500$US is about 630$CAD.

But right now the lowest is like $800CAD

In other words $630ish USD

Still a good buy?

Maybe I should wait?

I heard new series like 1180 or something like that are coming?

I wouldn’t pay that much unless it’s new. Used would be 500 max for me as there are crappy Msi cards that are being sold new for 400/450.

It's so unfair how Canadians have to pay way more... Gotta be happy about free healthcare... Ok so $800CAD is too much for a GTX 1080, in other words, $630USD. It costs $550CAD for the founder's edition so ok. Maybe I'll wait it out. I really want to get this new PC built...

AMD got to step up their games!

I was thinking about getting AMD GPU but Nvidia's GPU looked so good and beats in every benchmark!

I heard they also run cooler?!

yeah AMD GPU's are expensive, inneficient, they consume a shit load of power so they run hot, they make your case hot, and it makes the cards loud...

If they are in the same tier (like EVGA FTW, Asus ROG Strix, MSI Gaming X) buy the cheapest one.

Stay far away from the Armor and the blower cards. I had an Armor 1060 and even with my 80w heat output it struggled.

I would say it is definitely worth spending a bit more for a proper cooler. Don't go crazy though with the current prices.

That's an F in the profile pic
