I7-8700k

Hey. I just received my i7-8700K in the post today and have been buzzing to install it into my motherboard. It wouldn't fit in. Any help would be appreciated.

 

CPU : I7-8700K LGA1151

MB : STRIX ROG Z370-E GAMIMG

Yeah. But the top notches are far too high up the board.

Looks like an Ivy Bridge CPU that was engraved w/ the 8700k name.

Did you use a credit card or a debit card? If you used a credit card you can contact your provider and they will refund you the money. With a debit card you will have to go through AWDIT. I can't say I have heard of them and I am in the UK. I would highly advise you look at sites like Box, Scan, Overclockers and E-Buyer as i have never had any issues with any of those companies.

Better check with their support first and tell them that if they don't give you a refund that you will take measures like that.

You can chargeback on UK debit cards too with the direct debit guarantee.
