PC turns on and off by itself

Hello there. So the problem is the following. I was playing some games on my PC and it just shut down for no reason. Then it started turning on and off by itself for several times and then I shutted it down myself. Then this happens: Once my PC is plugged on the power and while the power supply is on, the PC tries to turn on by itself and then shuts down immediately. Not even for 1 second. I can barely see the led lights turning on, and the fans are starting and then after half a second they are off. I can hear the click that means the PC is turning on but nothing happens. All by itself. This loop happens every 7-8 seconds and it keeps happening unless I remove the cable or turn off the power supply. I have no idea what is this. I attempted running the PC, with only one stick of RAM. I attempted running the PC without the GPU. Problem was still there. Could this be a PSU or a mobo issue? Pls help Setup: i7 7700K 4.2 Asus rog strix Z270E gaming Titan XP star wars edition 32GB RAM corsair vengeance 3000mhz Coolermaster 1200W 80 plus platinum

That's scary stuff, man.
RMA the mobo and PSU if you still are on warranty, firstly the PSU, and if the RMAing doesn't work take it in to a repair shop (if they seem incompetent or aren't listening to you, just leave)

EDIT: As I probably should have said and Vengeance did too, also clear CMOS first by removing and inserting the CMOS battery.

GTX 1070 - Ryzen 5 3600x - Corsair H100i V2 - 32GB DDR4 3200

get the holy water

(actually though, clearing the CMOS will aleviate your problems

if it does not your mobo is broken)

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

I will try clearing the CMOS, however I did already order replacements for both the mobo and the PSU. What concerns me though is the reason why this happened and how am I going to guarantee that this won't happen in the future. Is this a general PC overheating issue? Or is it just a malfunction of a part?

What could have caused this? Is this an overheating issue? How do I know that this won't happen again?

I dont think its an overheating issue, even a 200W CPU without a cooler will take a few seconds to overheat, also considering when sensors kick in. Have you overclocked the unit? Does it have a BIOS code LED on the board? If so what does it say upon shutting down? Since its looping it sounds like its power cycling, clearing CMOS may help

Not overclocking. Does not have BIOS code LED. I have tried clearing the CMOS. Not only it didn't fix this, but now I even lost display on my monitor. I have tried connecting it on my Mobo, still no display. I have ordered an RMA for mobo and psu. Shall I order for RAM memory as well? I guess the PC needs to be built again.

no RAM should be fine, this is a very odd issue. Hopefully the replacement parts hold for years to come
