Can't connect to VNC!

Tom2.3

Hi all

I'm having trouble connecting to my computer via my mobile (using androidvnc) to my TightVNC server on my home computer, my internal IP (192.xxx..) works to connect just fine, but when I try to connect using my external IP, it just states "VNC connection failed", "Connection refused!". My external IP is linked to DDNS hostname, also doesn't work. Used a port checking tool online and it shows my external IP, and it says its open, but using the FreePortScanner tool it says it's closed, open on my internal IP. I have the port forwarded on the Sagecomm.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Did you forward the correct port? Did you direct the forward to the correct internal ip?

Yes, it's directed to my computer's IP. And the port is unique not 5900 for obvious concerns. I'm just out of ideas.

Wasn't that either, disabled both firewall and antivirus through services.

Here's the error I get when trying to connect, tried to google some of them with no luck.

Spoiler

VNC is an insecure protocol, no matter what port you use. You should learn to tunnel this through SSH, or use a VPN.

Just my .02 cents.
