Wooden Pc case

I just built a wooden pc case, would appreciate your input on it! Specs, in CASE you were wondering (sorry for the bad pun), i5 6500, gtx 1060 3gb, 8gb ram, 450w bronze psu, 500gb drive (system drive), 1tb drive, and msi b250m pro-vd.(If your wanting to build your own wooden pc case make sure you ground your motherboard to the psu shroud from one of the Moro screws)

I like the weathered finish, that's something you don't see often in cases. The colour is really neat, and the window is a cool touch!

Yeah I’m thinking about doing a semi gloss coating. That will probably be a future project though.

Ohh no, I love to hear other people’s thoughts, I realize everyone has different opinions. That’s just how life works.

I'd need to see more pics and some temperature data.

I'm going to tag in @TVwazhere since he's the resident #CaseDaddy. He'll see this in the morning.

well my opinion on it is less than favorable and if wood isn't something you usually work on I feel kind of rude commenting on it

looks good, you could add some details like bronze parts, or a front mesh to make it look kind of steampunk, it'd look absolutely sick with a custom loop made with metal tubing or something like that, idk I think the base looks pretty solid for that kind of mod style but just my thoughts

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

How’s the sound? I have heard that wooden cases could be worse for noise.

I put some padding in the empty space, it also depends on what wood you use. But I’d say it sounds just as good as any average case.

I let it run for a while in full screen 1920x1080. It wouldn’t let me take a screenshot full screen for some reason... I will get some more pics in a few minutes.

The top plate has a fan under it, don’t worry the gap is wide enough to pull air in.

Also on the back there is a gap between the acrylic panel and the wood to bring air in passively, then the psi at the bottom pulls air out. Yeah I was surprised this keeps my pc as cool as it is, still not the best though. Ohh, also you can see the fan through the acrylic

One of the reason that is is because the fan is directly blowing onto the CPU and by extension the GPU, so they both get fresh ahir pumped right into them versus traditional designs that pull air from the front of the case and try to move it to the back.

Maybe a nice wood stain to make the grain stand out?
