Ive been having this issue for a while now and its really weird. In steam my download speed is 11 mb/s and watching videos is smooth even at 1440p but loading webpages takes a lot longer. Speedtest shows my internet speeds at: 100mb/s download and 90mb/s upload. Any help is appreciated :)

Webpage loading depends heavily on the following:

  • If your connection has to hop through hoops that you can't see.
  • How tied up the servers are at the moment
  • How many files the the page has to grab
    • Note that a lot of pages use files from other content delivery networks, so response times also depends on how they're doing
  • If there are any extensions or whatnot that post-process the page on your browser.

As a general rule: single transfers are much quicker to get a response than multiple transfers.

Steam dispalys downloads in MB/s and speedtest in Mbps

1MB = 8Mb

As for the browser itself, that's usually up to the website being accessed, browser used, and a lot of other factors that don't have to do with internet speed itself.

Probably all the trackers are loading before anything else loads. Go get yourself some adblock and get a list that blocks trackers.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.
