BIOS Brand Mismatch

Go to solution Solved by Jurrunio,

If you managed to bypass the safety checks and install it, your mobo will be bricked. A bios chip programmer (a hardware) might fix it. but only might.

you can kiss the board goodbye, it'll be bricked if you install an incompatible bios.

Won't work. A bios is configured to work with the hardware it's attached to. Plus I don't think the bios would allow you to install another version that isn't meant for the board.

Next question: why would you want to? You can't enable features a board doesn't have, so there is no point in trying. Your VRMs won't magically become better, your USB ports won't go faster and you certainly wouldn't have a bunch of M.2 slots teleport to your board.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

It was more of just a for-fun-question but the main reason is that I much prefer Aura Sync over RGB Fusion and I just wanted to know if maybe installing another BIOS would trick the software but as I now know, that bricks it, so I won't be doing that.

BIOS is hardware specific, so yeah,no way around that. Gotta buy a different board.
