Single sided vs Dual sided DDR4 RAM

Hello LinusTechTips forum!

Just a simple question is there any difference between single sided and dual sided ddr4 ram in terms of performance ? What do you think guys maybe they perform exactly the same or not ?

I noticed that my new ddr4 ram has memory chips only in one side on ram pcb.

 

Here really is not much information about this.

Those are usually called "ranks" as mentioned by @Electronics Wizardy.

 

It doesn't make a huge difference between single rank and dual rank, but dual rank does allow for more memory on the same stick.
