Dyson Vacuum help please

Bhav

Whats the difference between the Dyson V8 Total clean and Absolute?

Are there any similar cordless handhelds from other brands that are as good but for less cost?

No upright, corded or bulky ones please.

Edit - Dyson V10s are coming soon and cost less, but again theres the Total clean for £499 or absolute for £449, and I cant spot the differences.

Right, I did loads more research and this was the only difference.

The Total Clean has more attachments, but the Absolute also has a soft one that the total clean doesnt that can do most other stuff.

Both have the carpets and hard floors attachment so either would be fine. I'll just keep an eye of for any decent prices, otherwise probably go for the Absolute for £50 less.

Dyson .. another overly expensive product. $500 USD for a vacuum cleaner :| I mean seriously what is in thing that makes it worth that much ... nothing. And yes I am being intentionally negative about this. My Hoover cost 180 USD and works just as well if not better though be it corded [40ft cord].

It's the fact that it's cordless, and still performs as well as something corded.

It also largely depends on the kind of flooring you're cleaning, the Dyson can pick up significantly more material than other vacuums.

It greatly depends on the surface though. Bare or wood floor? Might as well buy a broom. Thick shag carpet? That's where the differences will arise.

For people like me who next to nothing about adulting, I'd rather get the best I can, and also I can't physically handle pushing heavy uprights around.

They really don't cost much less, and don't seem worth the trade off to me compared to getting a light cordless Dyson.
