Quality of Cards used for mining

With the current state of the GPU market, I was beginning to wonder how a card used for mining would fair compared to one not used for mining.

Linus already made a video about performance degradation, but the circumstances are a little different with mining. I was wondering if anyone has bought a mined card and how did it do/ how is it doing?

If the card was kept within temps I don't think there will be any noticeable difference. I mined on a 7950 for 3 years nearly 24/7 and it was able to OC within 10mhz from when I got it originally

Just keeping this here as a The difference is that it is not made to run 24/7 and will probably fail in less than 5 years, compared to the usual 10-20 for GPUs.

If the temps aren't good then it would probably fail in just a couple months or years.

The performance is the same as a new card. All mining does is degrade parts such as the capacitors with the high temps, and also cause the atoms themselves in the cards to move significantly reducing it's life, the severity of this reduction depends on what it was mining, the model of the card, how long it was mining, how it was optimized, and the conditions in which the card was stored. All in all you could go from a card that lasts six months to one that lasts 8 years, you just don't know.
