Hello,so my pc died the other day and my varranty covered it and said that i can pick an 8350 or 9590? What should i chose? My cooler is hyper 212 evo and my mobo is gigabyte 970a-ud3p.

Both crap. Save up for Ryzen or Coffee Lake instead. The 9590 won't run on a Hyper 212 Evo. Way too weak cooler. You need a decent AIO watercooler at least or a high end air cooler like the Noctua NH-D15.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

he sounds like he's getting it back from an RMA, not buying it. I'd get the 8350 since the 9590 is hard to cool and need really good VRMs to avoid cooking the mobo.

Ah yes. This mobo has 8+2 phase VRM with decent protection, though, so in theory it could work. But then again, a V8 motor will work in a VW beetle, but that doesn't mean it's a particularly good idea :D

get the 9590. undervolt it slightly and you're good to go

Eh, should've gone with 9590, it's really worth so much more. Could've just undervolted&clocked it down to reasonable 8350 levels or sold it altogether. It's really the same thing, just binned for higher clocks and worth more.

IF you wan to sell it get the 9590, and hope some die hard AM3 fans still wanna purchase it.

I disagree. It's not really worth that much more and even undervolted and underclocked, the hyper 212 will struggle with it. Keep in mind these chips throttle at 70+ degrees and the 212 is an entry level cooler that'll be just enough for the 8350.

I'd have rather assumed that a 9590 underclocked to 8350 would actually run cooler and use less power than a 8350, as being a binned chip it should theoretically reach the same clock on lower voltage.

Edit: although on second thought you might be right, as it's probably binned for achieving higher clocks and being able to long-term survive high voltages rather than being efficient.

Okay so change of plans, since my cpu died they gaved me 23000 rsd (serbian dinars) which is enought to get a r5 1600. So thats why i chose. And i also need to get new mobo and ram,i was thinking about these too, what do you think?

Ram: https://www.emmi.rs/ram-memorije-memorija-dimm-ddr4-2x4gb-3000mhz-adata-xpg-z1-cl16.11.html?productId=67706

Mobo:https://www.emmi.rs/matične-ploče-(mb)-mb-amd-am4-asus-prime-a320m-k-m-atx.11.html?productId=61273

Just so you know im on a really tight budget for ram and mobo.

Complete waste of money just by ryzen or something. My friend wanted the 9590 because of 5gz

There's not much of a difference in the used market. You may be able to extract a few extra $ from the 9590 but that's about it.

I agree and disagree :P There isn't a big advantage of going for the 9590, and OP did the right choice, he can just put it in and forget about it. Or he can overclock later to soem intermediate point. However, undervolting and underclocking the 9590 will make it another 8350. Which one will do better at maintaining a given frequency at a lower voltage is up to silicon lottery, but once you move away from stock clocks it really doesn't matter which FX chip you got, only how lucky you got with your individual unit. So the 9590 won't be better nor worse in that sense. The 8350 was the obvious choice.

It'll do for the 8350. I got an 8370E to 8x4.0GHz on its stock cooler, which is weaker than the 8350 stock cooler. I wouldn't OC the 8350 with that, though, which is yet another reason not to go with the 9590 if OP just wants to get back to business with minimal hassle.

spend some extra for a B350/m Pro4 or prime plus instead, you don't get overclocking with A320.

Go buy Ryzen 2400g + a cheap 320 mobo. No need for 1600 if you wanna save some money.

That's false. I used to own a 9590, it ran just fine on an air cooler. It wasn't the greatest air cooler too, but fan fine. Even overclocked it a bit. Stress tested it and the temperatures were well with-in operating temperature.
