Non-modular, high watt sfx psu's?

I'm looking for an sfx psu in the 600-700w range that's non-modular, for modding purposes, are there any on the market right now?

If he needs 700 w I imagine it could be for a older PC

It's just easier with a non-modular. I want to re-route the cables through the side of the powersupply, instead of having them come out the front. That little bit of extra space would give me room to properly mount my outtake fan and hdd cage.

What case do you have? What's the max length of the PSU? Also, what specs? Chances are, you just might not need a high wattage PSU.

The Apollo 600 comes to mind, but it's not a good PSU.

That's the only one I could think of.

For that price of PSUs, around $100, most people expect them to be modular - so in most cases it's not worth it to make one non-modular.

You could try a Flex, CFX, or TFX if you're willing to do a bit more modding, but I'd doubt those would fit in your enclosure.

Edit: I second @TheRandomness, many people overestimate how many watts they need.

Edit #2: And further, does it need to be SFX or can it be SFX-L?

I'm using an ml06b-e, with 130w worth of fans, 2 hard drives, ryzen 1200 and an radeon 5450. I'm planning on upgrading to a 1700x and a gtx 1070. I haven't done the math but I'd rather overcompensate with the power supply.

A 1700X and a GTX 1070 would be fine running on a 550W PSU, and you'd still have plenty of room for others. Also, how many fans are you running? Because if it wasn't more than 5 or 6, I'd be worried. Also, do note that that case can't fit a normal-profile card, for when you upgrade. And if you bought an R3 2200G instead of that CPU and a 5450, you'd get much more GPU performance whilst saving a load of money, considering the 1200 and 2200G are the same price.

Sadly sfx-l doesn't fit in the case man, flex might work if I rig it a bit.

Thanks for the help guys.

I'm currently using 3 11.5k rpm deltas, though I doubt I'd need to run them at full speed I'd rather have the room than face accidental shutdowns.

Ah, makes sense. Alternatively, you could use quieter fans :P Regardless, a 550W PSU would be able to run the hardware you listed for upgrades anyway, considering a 1700X draws no more than 70W and the 1070 sips power at 160W.

Seriously? I'm behind the times.

Still having trouble finding a psu that'd fit what I need, the silverstone 550w would of been a good fit, but it has a board where I would route the cables.

There are none I am aware of.

But why SFX? If at all possible use an ATX PSU because they are just so much better and cheaper.

For something to be really good you sometimes need space - something SFX PSU don't provide...

Because there aren't many decent SFX PSU in the first place.

If I remember correctly you have something like two or maybe three that are worth thinking about. The rest isn't that great and should be avoided.

And then again, you pay something like +50% more and don't really get a great PSU.

For example the mentioned SST-SX550 (made by FSP, Gold with cables) cost around 85€ here.

At the same Store, a 550W Bitfenix Formula is only 70€.

And guess wich one performs better ;)

What 550W??
There are a couple.

But this fully modular one is just so much better:

And there aren't that many really good SFX PSU...

As is, the cables for the sfx psu I have block where I'm planning on putting my hard drive cage, as well as preventing me from mounting that fan properly. The cage would go under the fan and infront of the powersupply you see here.

I physically can not fit a larger powersupply in the case, Thanks for the advice though!

Ah, I see.

So a fully modular SFX PSU woudln't fit. That's a good reason.

But why 600W or more?
That rig looks like you could maybe pull 150W

Anyway, what I'd recommend:
ST45SF V3.0 _NOT_ V2.0

The SX550 also seems OK.

I'm planning on upgrading to a gtx 1070, and a ryzen 7 1700x down the line. The fans themselves pull around 130watts.

Fans pull 130W?! Are you kidding?!

Anyway, the 1070 will not fit in that case. So you need a new one anyway.
And I sugest to start with the new case...

I'm planning on grabbing the zotac 1070mini, and just cutting part of the heatsink off. It should fit, and yeah the fans do draw 130w. There are 2 12v 3.3amp fans and one 12v 4.5amp fan.

I've looked at that as well, sadly it won't fit either. There's a board blocking where I'd need to route the wires, if the orientation was flipped it would be more than doable. Maybe even without modding the thing.

Thanks again for the continued help!

Come to think of it, it might doable in another way with this psu.
