Slow HandBrake Encoding Speeds

I'm encoding a bunch of TV shows to h265. Everything looks ok except the 16 hour wait time for a single 22 minute episode!! I have a intel xeon e5 2630 v4 with 10 cores. Is there a setting I can set to make it faster?

Does hand break have full support for all those cores with H.265 with that Xeon?

Yes. All my cores are being used.

something is fucky with your settings. i do hour long episodes in like 30 minutes.

are you doing 1080p or 4k?

also, i realized i dont use H.265, i still use H.264. 

you'll get a little better quality with H.265, but itll take longer.

i'd suggest trying to switch it, and see if the time/quality is worth it to you.

 

also, if you have at least a 900 series nvidia gpu, you can use StaxRip instead of Handbrake, which support nvenc encoding, which may increase speeds

I'm getting fed with error messages. I think ill stick to handbrake for now.

use the constant quality instead of the average bit rate
