Very low (10 fps max) fps on new high end build.

lavablade02

I recently built a system with a 1060 6gb, which is faulty (currently running on intel hd graphics) an i5 8600k, and an msi z370-a pro. I am getting 10 fps max in most games. The only game that is "playable" is stardew valley, with a solid 25 fps. I can't even start minecraft up. What component would be at fault, and is there a way I can fix this?

i5-8600k, MSI Z370-A Pro, 2x 8GB DDR4-3k, MSI Gaming X 1060, NZXT S340, 2TB HDD, 750w Corsair PSU, AOC 2775 OC'd to 80Hz and CFG73 at 144hz

Its because you're using intel HD graphics. They're not capable of very high performance, which is why you'd use a graphics card, such as the 1060. When you get that replaced, your framerates will drastically increase.

What outputs are you using on the 1060?

He's not using the 1060. He said it's defective and is using onboard.

Minecraft behaves weird on internal graphics from my experience. Actually minecraft behaves weird in general.

The windows 10 edition works a lot better since its not java based

Its probably safe to presume it is a no as Minecraft won't even launch :P

@OP, Try installing the drivers for your iGPU. They can be found here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27484/?product=126685

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I did install them, but will try reinstalling. Will update

Edit: When I run the drivers I blue screen. Safe mode works, but then it brings me into a blue screen loop when it reboots. I had to diagnose the issue and safe boot. Then I ran DDU for intel drivers. Issue isn't fixed, but at least the pc works.

Okay then, that usually points to a faulty GPU but it can be caused by bad drivers/borked windows install. Considering the amount of BSOD-ing and driver issues I've seen recently with recent windows updates, I would not be surprised if it was software.

I am using my hard drive from my old pc, and it worked fine on there. Should I still reinstall?

Edit: How big of a usb do I need for a reinstall?

Yea, no mods work though sadly..

It's surprisingly good in VR though :)
