Audio popping/crackle after resuming from sleep - Asus Prime Z270-A

I recently installed this board and I've noticed a few minor issues that I didn't experience with my previous mobo. After waking from sleep, any sort of audio will be accompanied by a sort of crackling or popping sound. In addition, I notice my HWmonitor readings go way out of whack and display almost 5 times as many readings as it normally would. (With most being duplicates, based on the numbers).

 

Both of these odd problems only occur after resuming from sleep. If I restart or perform a cold boot, the issues are not present. As such, I figure this is most likely a software bug rather than a hardware defect, right?

Does anyone else with this board experience such odd behavior? Would a bios update potentially fix this, or should I look at picking up a soundcard?

Hey there, I was just searching about this exact same issue, looking for a fix. I also have an Asus mobo, the Z170-A, and I had been using this build last year with none of these issues. The computer hadn't been used in some time, and I reformatted about 2 months ago, but everytime the computer sleeps and I wake it, I get these crackling/popping audio sounds.

CPU: i7 6700K 4.6ghz
Cooling: Cryorig R1 Universal
RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR4 3000mhz
VIdeo Card: GTX 1070 SC
Power Supply: Corsair RMx 650W
OS: Windows 10 Pro

 

Various audio drivers, BIOS updates, etc. did not fix this for me. I'm not using any power-saving options and am set to high performance power.

Are you using AI Suite by any chance?
