BSOD - can only access UEFI

Teonalei
Go to solution Solved by SupaKomputa,

hmmm i'm out of options.

the last option would be to stick another cpu in it. assuming the cpu is broken.

and maybe its the motherboard.

Ok stop right there, that screen confirms that the usb is fine.

Now the problem is likely the windows installer failed to execute / load.

This can be a hardware failure.

Better test the memory for now.

If the memory tested ok, you may have a bad motherboard.

You also can check your heatsink installation.

This problem can also caused by overheating cpu.

Unplug the heatsink and reapply some thermal paste.

Unplug the gpu and use CPU+MEM+iGPU.

@SupaKomputa

Looking at the UEFI the cpu isnt overheating, its sitting at~35 degrees.

I'd look into the memory, but that could only really be the RAM atm since no other memory (excluding the USB) is connected.

Something.

yes, download memtest64 and burn it to a usb.

memtest is running through dos, so you need to boot it from usb.

Lets hope its just a memory failure.

@SupaKomputa

Would Memtest86 work instead? If not i'd have to ask how to burn memtest64 to an iso.

I did a test with memtest86 on the RAM, and no errors appeared.

Something.

@SupaKomputa

Okay, i went out and bought a new motherboard and cpu, changed it out and it seems to work just fine.

Is there anything i should check to prevent the same thing happening again?

Something.
