As long as you don't have a system with not IG, just wait.

GTX 1060 3GB's are probably gonna go down b/c they can't be used for ethereum anymore. Just gotta wait for the other cards.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

The DAG file, that must be loaded into the VRAM of any GPU in order for it to run Ethash, and goes up in size slowly over time, is now over 3GB, so 3GB cards can't fit it in their buffer, so they can't mine eth anymore.

But you can still mine zcash and monero and other things so I don't foresee 1060 3GBs lowering their prices.

Just read an article on mobile; forgot where it's from.

Something about ETH tweaking their algorithms or something. Kinda forget already.

It has something to do with something called the DAG (dunno what it stands for) it's a massive file of some sort that gets loaded into the GPU VRAM. As the difficulty of mining grows higher and the chain gets longer this file increases in size requiring more VRAM to accommodate the file...or something to that extent.

It's not an algorithm tweak, the algo's been this way since the beginning. As the blockchain increases in size, so does the file needed to mine.

You did not but I felt it was relevant to explain.

As for recommendations, for me the biggest one is wait. Problem being, we don't know how long the shortage will be around. An alternative is to buy a used card, in the performance level of a 1050 Ti / a bit higher. I talk of stuff like HD 7970/7950, GTX 960/780/780Ti/680/770. Ebay has some listings for those. You can use tomshardware's not particularly accurate but good enough GPU hierarchy to find what GPU performance level you're willing to pay for.

Looking at your build, you have a 7600k.

While you wait for GPU, go get your RAM, storage, etc.

You'll be able to do most games low settings just on your integrated graphics (probably).

Did the difficulty level increase or was there just poor ROI?

Hence why you weren't the one he quoted...

To answer your question though you just need to sign up for notifications when the card you want comes back into stock on newegg (make sure you're filtering the seller to only newegg and not the 3rd party bs) and then you just need to be fast and buy it within minutes of getting the notification they're back in stock. Got my 1080 Ti this way a couple of months ago.
