Workstation build Query " TR/Vega"

I am building a workstation , I need maximum display outs as much as possible for graphics playouts on shows.

Should I opt for new imac pro as it directly supports -  "

  • Two 5120‑by‑2880 (5K) external displays at 60Hz with support for 1 billion colors, or
  • Four 3840-by-2160 (4K UHD) external displays at 60Hz with support for 1 billion colors, or
  • Four 4096‑by‑2304 (4K) external displays at 60Hz with support for millions of colors
  • Support for extended desktop and video mirroring modes
  • Thunderbolt 3 digital video output
  • Native DisplayPort output over USB-C"

But I want to go with TR!

Or what can I do to get similar outs on my custom build? " ain't gonna game".

should I opt for 2 RX 580s or a single vega 64/56? 'which one?'

What displays do you need to run? What do you need the gpu power for? Id also look at quadros as there very good with multimonitors.

For smooth playback on resolume arena

Linus already made a video over workstation and consumer graphics cards , Quadros are over priced and I want Vega .

Even newest Imac uses vega so I just wanted to confirm if I can get similar display outs like imac with Vega cards on pc.

why do you want vega? its hot and really not that fast.

quadros have more features for multimonitor.

or just get a card like a gtx 1080.

But even if I get a Quadro p2000 which costs around 30k"inr" has 1024 cuda cores , and 4 x dp port 1.4"which is great" but similarly priced RX 570 has double stream cores , 1dp port 1.4 , 1 HDMI 2.0 , 2 dvi .

Same varies from vendor to vendor , so I'm damn confused right now?.

"Just for an eg , we gotta play graphics at a show which has different LEDs u @ 5280*2820 resolution for which we currently use Mac pro "cylinder" , so should I buy 1 high end GPUs or should I buy 2 midrange ones and run them separately? Someone on Reddit suggested me to use RX 560 and get a mst hub.

you cant compare gpu specs like that.

How much gpu usage do you see? If you don't need much gpu compute power, id get a few lower end cards.

I need compute power too.

Then go gtx 1060 or 1070 or 580.

But you can never compare gpu specs like compute units, memory clock, core clock, flops and other specs.

You need to be more specific about the requirements/use. Exactly how many outputs at what resolutions are needed. (And don't say as many as possible, because the only limit then is $.) How much compute power is needed, e.g. are you rendering high def 3D models? Saying compute power is needed in addition to multiple outputs is simply too general for a reasonable answer.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
