My 550ti is better than my R9 270?

So i just purchased an Asus Direct CU radeon R9 270. It runs battlefield and other stuff great but when it comes to minecraft it blows. It runs minecraft far worse than my old 550 ti. All the drivers are up to date and I even have it overclocked. Is there a fix to this or has anyone else experienced this?

all I can tell you is that Minecraft is terribly optimized for anything.....I have a gtx66 8gb ram and I only get 60fps -_-

I think you can increase the priority of the process in the taskmanager

are u 100% sure? because minecraft is mostly CPU based anyways.... overall the 270 is a FAR much better card maybe minecraft is a  mistake. are u not getting 60 fps?

EDIT: and btw every minecraft player should be using OPTIFINE anyways.
that mod basically does more optimizations than the developers have ever done

It isn't, something else is going on causing the performance issues.

I never use vsync and I do have optifine. I play multiplayer and if there's a crowded area my fps drops to less than 20 which my 550ti never had a problem with. I have plenty of ram allocated as well.

Also, My settings aren't even high. I usually turn off all the fancy crap.

I think you can increase the priority of the process in the taskmanager

How exactly would i do that? It doesnt seem all that clear to me.

well on win8 you open taskmanager and click on the tab "details" you select minecraft or it's process and right click to see more options. There is one option in the middle called select priority. I think realtime is the highest

Your 550Ti is outperforming 780Ti , Nvidia wants your graphics card back and will offer you $1000 for it.

But that's only a dream =)

In all seriousness , make sure you sweep driver before changing brands. Minecraft isn't all that graphic intensive at all =P

There's little point in doing this.
