Hello!

I'm looking for music recommendations on the louder end of the spectrum. Angling a little more away from alt/alt rock, but not fully into metal.

Something with a fair bit of drums and guitar is fine, vocals are preferred.

I don't care about explicit content as long as they're not singing about sex and drugs and stuff like that, general swearing is fine.

Anyone have any recommendations?

There were some really good ones in here.

Though you said not fully metal, I'd still give it a look.

I think I might have commented in there haha. I'll have a look though.

Do you mean music that's just mastered loudly?

If so I can recommend The Pretty Reckless. Whoever does their mastering must either be hard of hearing, a complete moron or an absolute madman.

If you just mean music that's somewhere between rock and metal, then maybe give Demon Head a go:

Nova doctrina terribilis sit perdere

Audio format guides: Vinyl records | Cassette tapes

Eh, I am not sure how far away you want to go from alt rock or what is considered alt rock to you.

I have a few bands I tend to recommend to people. I am not sure how loud you want either.

But...

Black Stone Cherry: white trash rock basically. Seen them live 5 times. Ears always ringing after. Tremendous live band.

Mastodon- One of the loudest bands around

Red Fang-Loud as hell

The Sword-Very loud

Druid-One of my personal favorite

Sleep-One of the forerunners of the stocker rock genre. Absolute monsters live also. Very loud and basically riff worship.

Storm Enforcer 2.0

CPU: I7 Intel 8700k / GPU: EVGA - GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Superclocked ACX 2.0+ / Motherboard: Asus ROG Z370-H Gaming / Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200/ Storage: Samsung 850 EVO - 120GB + WD Blue 1TB / PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650w G3 / Cooling:  Noctua NH‑D15S / Case: Cooler Master HAF932 Advanced

Or, they can have a 13-minute scream fest of Kiske.  D:

Also one of the best vocal performances in heavy metal.

Yes, but is the vocalist the drummer? ;D

What do they know of England, who only England know?

The drummer is dead.  Jumped in front of a train due to depression.  But, Kiske is the most important singer of power metal.

Wouldn't know. I don't listen to power. Mainly just NWOBHM and thrash.
