Worth Selling my 970?

DocSwag

So I've had a 970 for a while. With this whole crypto boom it sounds like if I go on ebay I could probably sell the thing for at least around $250, which is far higher than I might be able to at any point in the future, and getting close to what I bought the thing for. Do you think it's worth selling it now?

If I sold it I unfortunately won't be able to use my PC for gaming for a while though... However, I own a laptop with a 1050 so I think I could just hook my monitor up to that and still get pretty decent fps and whatnot that still wouldn't be that bad. Thoughts?

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I was thinking the same thing, the problem is I don't have a backup gaming rig other than my crappy ps4. Also, with the money I would get from that I would still be FAR from buying an upgrade. I guess I will wait this wave out until it gets sorted.

The 1050 is an abysmal card. That said, it all comes down to what you think. None of us can answer worth for you.

Do you think it's worth giving up gaming for the foreseeable future to make maybe $80 more than you would later on?

It's really not that much money.

Probably not as the 970 is going pretty cheap nowadays, well in the UK anyway.

Around £100-150 depending on model.

Yeah 1050 is probably only half the performance, and I guess now that you put it that way it's not that worth it...

How much do you think I could make per day (not including electricity costs)

I forgot to say, miners don't like the 900s series. The cost of electricity is higher so their margin is lower.

Conservative estimate would be like $1.50 probably like $2.50 - $3.00 max. But if you aren't using it 24/7, then why not make some cash.

Less than that. The 1050Ti, depending on the title, is half of the 970.
