Dust removal

Docretier

My graphics card has two fans on it, if I put them to 100% will that clean the dust out of the heat sink?

Sadly no. That might blow more dust into your heatsink. Try using a duster, your finger, or a cloth.

No, if anything the dust would go deeper into the heatsink. But I expect the fans to not have enough power to move the dust that's stuck in there. I would suggest using a compressor or a can of compressed air and blow the dust out in the opposite direction the fans blow air into the card.

No, buy a compressed air can froma hardware store, or some place like walmart, and if you want to save moeny ask and see if any family members have an air compressor you can use. Also some gas stations have a air compressor you can use for about ¢50.

I’m 17 and for some god forsaken reason I get my license checked and I can’t buy it. I don’t understand why, is there something I don’t know?

Oh people use that compresssd air to get high, so they check you license. If you own an air compressor that works well too.

I dont understand your question, please rephrase. Are you asking about needing a licencse to use the air compressor at a gas station?

I use a datavac electric duster, works great! You will still need an electric brush of some kind and some paper towels if you are going to get it spicky clean.

Not really. If you take it apart you can remove the dust with compressed air, I also found that a brush works surprisingly well.

Won’t the air compressor bring in moisture, isn’t that bad for the card?

Are the data vacs actually worth it though? What makes them any different than a vacuum? I could just put rubber around the end to prevent static build up?
