crucial ssd question

this may be just nitpicking but I have the impression it feels cheaper? they went in BX direction in the case, nothing to do with my mx300 

 

this is the MX300 forgive me for all the dust and RGBlightingless... I just don't care xD

Hi, my first post here!

I currently have a MX 300 for my system, the 525gb one, and some spinning HDDs for the files, some month ago I bought a BX 300 240 as cache for my work, mostly AE disk cache and auto save, scratch and stuffs, but now the MX 500 is out there so... I want to know how could both compare... 

BX300 240GB vs MX500 250GB

 

any thoughts?

MX500 is definitely quicker.

MX500 is faster, but not fast enough to replace your BX300

spec wise the mx500 is faster but idk about anything else

Hey thank you so much! you have been so more helpful than amazon answers! in almost an entire day I have received only one answer and it's not even related with what I'm asking 

so is faster, but not that faster? I have already bought the ssd but well... at least isn't gonna be slower :D

the outgoing BX300 have around 2 tb or so written and have already paid for itself but it writes ok even nearly at full, I have an over provision of 5%, the MX500 being a TLC how could fare in this respect? 

I haven't found a review or comparison of the two models

Cell type doesnt matter much on durability because the controller is what dies first 95% of the time. Controllers on Crucial's SSDs are good so dont worry.

well, this is the first time I read that... in all the sites and reviews they're always saying tlc doesn't last etc. good to know, and what about performance when the drive is full or nearly full? 

could you point me to some review about the MX500 250 gb version?

MX500 is so new there arent any reviews. All we know is that the controller is made by Silicon Motion, which isnt a bad name.
