This video was the first I've heard of this phone. It doesn't appear to have a US release or price set yet. More importantly, this won't be Huawei's most powerful phone coming to the US, but it will be the most powerful under the Honor brand. Their most powerful phone will be the Mate 10 Pro. Both have the Kirin 970 so it'll be interesting to see how they price them.

@LTT Could you guys ask Honor when they're going to release this phone in the US? I've been waiting FOREVER for the release in the US.

might be a dumb question but, what's the point of a phone with an AI on it?

if you watched the video linus literally explains what it does

 

in short it adapts to how you like things and preemptively adjust things like photo quality automatically among other things to make life better and more seamless

Yea freedom, I visit toronto on a weekly basis but beyond that anything north of hwy 7 becomes a game of chance... I finally got LTE at my house a few weeks ago, even tho it should of been here long ago... I also just noticed they pushed the LTE rollout for the GTA area as well...

They made a huge mistake selling to Shaw... Service north of 7 decreased exponentially in 2017, at the time I had the Stylo 2 Plus which later upgraded for LTE with the 3 Plus, freedom has become the phone company of disappointments here... I can literally lose connection in my backyard with 3 large trees or in a open field about 5 minutes walk from here, and yes I'm within the LTE area...

not sure if there are regional version of this phone. It is on sale in europe but not band20? this make no sense for 500€ phone in 2018, i think there are different version for the local LTE band

Also depending on your carrier (yet another thing Freedom has failed to deliver on time) you might be able to get away with buying the UK version using their LTE Band 7 or 41 with VoLTE

Pssst iPhone have had machine learning for a long time and now the bionic chip is specifically made to make it better too. Androids also have similar stuff going on. Basically on the iPhone the more you talk to Siri the more she learns your voice and the properties that accommodate it accent, mumbling, lisp, and so on. The keyboard also learns how you type. It's outside of autocorrect but it'll click the letter you always mess up. So say when you always text say what but it's sat what it'll automatically correct to say. People have videos of them in slow motion touching the wrong key but they meant to hit the other and it knows. You have to text for a couple months though and it only gets better. There are also other various features that use AI

huge difference going based on what I know, is iPhones are not designed around AI, this new SoC is. If you ran Siri on a 970 SoC in theory she would run better than she would on a iPhone.

I only see minor things like OLED waterproof etc nothing "major" to really make one run out and buy the more expensive phone if you dont care about OLED or waterproof sales gimmicks... So perhaps that's why they have not released the View 10 yet? Hoping to rack in a few more bucks from the Mates...

If i relied on B66 all day everyday I would be screwed, I dont even have it now) :P I only put it out there because some providers along with some people actually have good networks with in the cities/area (and those people may never leave said city/area), a bonus could be had if your network has 3G in the spectrums same as UK or what the phone advertises, so even if the LTE band fails you still have 3G service.

Honor 8 was a copy of the huawei p9 and they release them to the same market.

 

jehh 3g is even worse from the coverage,  city and during travel. From frankfurt to kassel you don't have internet, with Telekom you can place phonecalls with every other carrier nothing and on this railway line are hunderts of passanger trains each day. It dont feal like it is a leading industrial nation.

Sounds worse than what i have. However I've seen LTE/4G and i can't make a phone call to my voicemail... So I could have more dead spots then I know of...

 

This is why when i see a decent deal with either one of Bells Subsidiaries or Telus or their subs, I'm gone, Telus piggybacks off of Bell, but i refuse to use Bell directly, the nightmares... If i switch now I'll be paying 266% more than I currently am right now, sounds big but it really isn't, still a huge hit considering I buy my phones outright...
