This has probably been asked before but is there an official app for here? Is one in development if not?

 

Would be nice to have one so people can use on the go.

Me personally.  I RealVNC into my server at home to use the website.  But im told im odd when it comes to using technology.  so, who knows.

It would probably take just a few hours to make an iOS App for the forum based on the mobile site. Its pretty much all done.

as someone familiar with android development.  it would take a matter of minutes to make an LTT android app thats just a browser window of the LTT forums.

Well we will see what Linus wants to do. Plans for an LTT app im sure would have been discussed. Maybe we will see it in a FloatPlane app?

Or you could just open it in a browser to begin with, but I guess that is hard for people.

The website is a responsive design so it scaled to any screen size. No reason for an app

I find that having an app for everything is a bit excessive at best, and plain wasteful at worst. Not everything even needs an app to function properly, or to enhance interaction. A well-built website is a good example of how to not need an app - they can adapt themselves to any-sized screen, and work on almost any device, without the need for external modification. I used to work with HTML4 and 5 (along with a slew of other web technologies) - it's advanced far enough to where having a dedicated, hand-coded app is no longer necessary for most (well-built) websites.
