How to find owner of phone numbers

Joveice

Hello,

Is there a way to find owners of phone numbers from the UK/England using the number for search? (yellow page)

I could not find any, I would like to find the business behind a number so I can block all their numbers if not I'll just block each that calls me.

We have this in Norway where you can find private and business, everyone can opt out if they want to.

We are also getting a new law that says all commercial stuff with calling for information, statistics etc have to register their phone numbers in a public list (win win for us who want to block them).

Unfortunately this only protects you with legal businesses and not those who spoof their number.

Here in the US, all these robo calls and spam calls will spoof a local number.  Sometimes I get 10 or more per day on my cell.  Its most annoying when people start calling you saying they missed a call from your number.  I wish there was a way to track them down and file some kind of lawsuit against them.

I think the key is to use a virtual pbx for landline, like those pbx's used in offices, where you can press an extension number to reach someones office.

When people call the main number like 212-424-8282 typical North American home line with the first 3 digits being Area Code.

1) Your home phone wont ring until the extension number is pressed.

2) If you are not home, and they do not press the extension, it goes to voicemail after a set number of rings, that the person calling you is hearing on their phone, but the home phones do not ring at all.

3) Its only until the extension number is pressed that your home line will ring.

*It will be quite a different experience for whomever is calling you because you the home owner have to decide with the options in the virtual pbx, how many rings you want when people dial the main number. Then do you have a voice that states "Enter extension now, or leave a message" - My guess would be let it ring once, then prompting voice of "Enter extension or leave message" then if they enter extension then have it ring for the normal amount of rings before it goes to voicemail if you are not home.

It will involve people trying to reach you having to press say an extra digit or two or three on their phone, which is very odd for a home number, but always common and regular practice in the business enviroment.

I think that is the key to the problem of scammers.

The Call Blockers that are sold, do not work! We have one.

Another trick is to have the whomever is selling the service like say Furnace Cleaners or Carpet Cleaner go to an address that is way out by the city limits. have it a real address, have it a real large house for when the sellers google map it, they get excited. And state that you have a 4250 square foot house, so it really gets their juices flowing.

- That is if you have time to do that sort of thing.
